Bitcoin Money shares the message from Mt. Gox regarding their security incident in which account information was compromised:
“Security professionals […] are finding hundreds of these passwords [from the Mt. Gox database] easily”.
“The exchange has disabled login and trading is suspended until this issue and the related issue involving fraudulent trading activity is addressed”.
“The most important detail from the message though is the warning provided. […] the user should change their passwords everywhere else [where the same password was used]”.
“Though this specific data breach is isolated to Mt. Gox where trading is suspended, trading on other exchanges continues”.
